Dit is de Non-Stop
RNI Top 50 van 9 September 1972. Popcorn in heel veel uitvoeringen staat
Candlewick Green kennen we in Nederland van hun hit “Who do you think you

The RNI memories
of Michael Downing for this period Thursday 7 September 1972 Tony Allan and
Gerard Smit leave on the tender and Arnold Layne
and Hans Molenaar return to the Mebo
2. Dutch service news is read by Gerard Smit in the
morning, followed by Marc van Amstel in the middle
of the day and then Hans Molenaar at the end of the
day. Ferry Maat is on holiday, so the Tony Berk programme runs from 13.00
to 16.00 and Driemaster, presented today by Hans
ten Hooge, runs from 16.00 to 19.00. Tonight's
International service programmes are: 19.00 Arnold
Layne 21.00 Terry
Davis 23.00 Mike Ross
(Kent Request Hour) 24.00 - 3.00
Brian McKenzie Terry Davis and
Arnold Layne read the news. Friday 8 September 1972 Both Peter
Holland's and Tony Berk's shows today are recorded
at the "Recreada" event in Den Haag. Nico Steenbergen presents
today's Driemaster from 16.00 to 19.00. Dutch

Ross News is read by
Arnold Layne and Terry Davis Saturday 9 September 1972 Apart from the Treiterschijf, the records that I have heard most on RNI
over the week to Friday 8 September 1972 have been: Salvatore Adamo - Femmes aux yeux d'amour Looking Glass -

Is it really true boy, is it really me? Nico
Steenbergen presents the Super Hit 50 show this
afternoon and Driemaster, both of which are
recorded. The Driemaster Kanskaart
is described as the Nico Steenbergen
Kanskaart, so maybe Hans Ten Hooge
is now on holiday. Tonight's programmes are: 19.00 Arnold
Layne (International Prediction Hit 40) 22.00 Terry
Davis (Reviews) 23.00 Terry
Davis (Kent Request Hour) 24.00 Brian
McKenzie 3.00 - 7.00 Mike
Ross News is read by
Terry Davis and Arnold Layne. The power on 220m is reduced from 90KW today,
but apparently RNI should be back on full power tomorrow. There is no Rob
Eden hitpick in the Top 40 show and, as he has now
not been on board for over 2 weeks, it seems probable that he has left the
station. Arnold Layne did, however, refer to a
couple of his former hitpicks in the Top 40 as
"Former Robbie style hitpicks". Sunday 10 September 1972 Power back to
90KW on medium wave today. There is a new promo for the mobile discotheque
made by Alfred Lagarde. Alfred is featured in
today's mobile disco show, together with Peter Holland. Tonight's programme schedule: 19.00 Brian
McKenzie (Hitback Show) 21.00 Mike Ross
(Cloud 9) 23.00 Terry
Davis (Kent Request Hour) 24.00 - 3.00
Arnold Layne News is read by
Terry Davis and Brian McKenzie. Monday 11 September 1972 The medium wave
transmitter had a lot of trouble between 15.00 and 16.15, with the level
dropping several times. International service programmes this evening are: 19.00 Arnold Layne 21.00 Terry Davis 23.00 Mike Ross (Kent Request Hour) 24.00 - 3.00 Brian McKenzie News is read by
Terry Davis and Arnold Layne. Tuesday 12 September 1972 Terry Davis and
Brian McKenzie go off on shore leave and Dave Rogers returns. This alters the
International service programme schedule to: 19.00 Mike Ross 21.00 Dave Rogers 23.00 Dave Rogers (Kent Request Hour) 24.00 - 3.00 Arnold Layne News is read by
Arnold Layne, Mike Ross and Dave Rogers. Wednesday 13 September 1972 An uneventful
day, with programmes and newsreaders the same as yesterday. Thursday 14 September 1972 Spangles Muldoon
returns to RNI. Also out on the tender today are Tony Allan and Gerard Smit
and going off on shore leave are Mike Ross and Marc van Amstel. Marc reads
the morning news and Hans Molenaar reads the afternoon news. International
service programmes are: 19.00 Tony Allan 21.00 Dave Rogers 23.00 Spangles Muldoon (Kent Request Hour) 24.00 - 3.00 Arnold Layne News is read by
Arnold Layne, Tony Allan and Dave Rogers. The return of
Spangles Muldoon pretty well confirms that Rob Eden has now left RNI. Friday 15 September 1972 Gerard Smit reads the morning news and Hans Molenaar continues
to do the afternoon bulletins. Tony Berk has gone on holiday and Ferry Maat
returns from his holiday today, so Peter Holland has an extra hour (from
11.00 to 14.00) and Ferry Maat starts an hour earlier at 14.00. Spangles Muldoon
hosts the Skyline show from 3.00 to 6.00 on Saturday morning and news on the
International service is read by Arnold Layne, Tony Allan and Dave Rogers. A mobile
discotheque show today features Ferry Maat and Alfred Lagarde. A lot of new
records played on RNI this week, including the following:
