Kooijmans van de Golden Earring gaat solo onder het pseudoniem Jojo en komt
nieuw binnen op 36 met Lovin’ and Hurtin’. Deep Purple komt met het lekkere
stevige Fireball binnen op nummer 45. Mouth & McNeal staan onveranderd op
nummer 1 met How do you do. Nogal wat onbekende platen tussen de kanskaarten.
De kanskaart van Den Draaierd is van het Combo Nick van Gasteren. Nick treed
nog steeds op, met onder andere Clous van Mechelen, en is ook regelmatig te

Brian McKenzie. Sunday 19 December 1971 Today is to be the final World Service
broadcast. Paul May announces at 10.00 that, as the 31 metre
band transmitter is off the air and RNI can no longer reach all round the
world, it has been decided to terminate the World Service. However, new
International service programmes are planned for
1972. On the Dutch service, Hans ten Hooge presents
Kop Op. World and International service programmes

very sad at the closure of the World service and gives some facts about the
service from his notebook throughout his show. The In Concert programme this evening features
Neil Diamond and Jose Feliciano. All four International service DJs on board
at the moment – Brian McKenzie, Terry Davis, Paul May and Dave Rogers – read
the news. There is a mobile discotheque today at which Joost
Verhoeven and Tony Berk
are the DJs appearing. Monday 20 December 1971 Nico
Steenbergen continues on Driemaster.

International service programmes are: 18.00 Brian McKenzie 20.00 Terry Davis 22.00 Paul May 24.00 – 3.00 Dave Rogers Tuesday 21 December 1971 The medium wave signal is getting worse.
News tonight is read by Paul May, Dave Rogers and Brian McKenzie. Wednesday 22 December 1971 The signal on medium wave is very weak
today. The medium wave and short wave transmitters go off the air at 20.00
for maintenance. Brian McKenzie says “Big things are coming your way on RNI
soon”. Normal programmes continue throughout the
evening on FM and news this evening is read by Terry Davis, Dave Rogers and
Brian McKenzie. Thursday 23 December 1971 RNI is back on the air as usual this
morning and the signal is much improved. Paul May, Brian McKenzie and Hans
ten Hooge go off on shore leave and Leo van der Goot, Mike Ross and Rob
Eden return. This means that International service programmes
this evening change to: 18.00 Rob Eden 20.00 Mike Ross 22.00 Terry Davis 24.00 – 3.00 Dave Rogers Leo van der Goot and Cass the Cook are putting the finishing touches
to the ship’s Christmas tree this evening. Plenty of special programmes are planned for the Christmas period. Dave
Rogers features the top 10s of 1952, 1959 and 1965 and the Top 30 of 1966 on
