Mouth & McNeal staan onveranderd op nummer 1 met How do you do.

Sunday 19 December 1971

Today is to be the final World Service broadcast. Paul May announces at 10.00 that, as the 31 metre band transmitter is off the air and RNI can no longer reach all round the world, it has been decided to terminate the World Service. However, new International service programmes are planned for 1972. On the Dutch service, Hans ten Hooge presents Kop Op. World and International service programmes are:

7.00 Mike Ross

9.00 Rob Eden

11.00 Brian McKenzie

13.00 Dave Rogers

15.00 Terry Davis

18.00 Dave Rogers (In Concert)

24.00 – 3.00 Dave Rogers

Brian McKenzie plays some of the hits of 1971 on his World service programme. Dave Rogers is very sad at the closure of the World service and gives some facts about the service from his notebook throughout his show. The In Concert programme this evening features Neil Diamond and Jose Feliciano. All four International service DJs on board at the moment – Brian McKenzie, Terry Davis, Paul May and Dave Rogers – read the news. There is a mobile discotheque today at which Joost Verhoeven and Tony Berk are the DJs appearing.

Monday 20 December 1971

20.00 Terry Davis

22.00 Paul May

Tuesday 21 December 1971

The medium wave signal is getting worse. News tonight is read by Paul May, Dave Rogers and Brian McKenzie.

Wednesday 22 December 1971

The signal on medium wave is very weak today. The medium wave and short wave transmitters go off the air at 20.00 for maintenance. Brian McKenzie says “Big things are coming your way on RNI soon”. Normal programmes continue throughout the evening on FM and news this evening is read by Terry Davis, Dave Rogers and Brian McKenzie.

Thursday 23 December 1971

RNI is back on the air as usual this morning and the signal is much improved. Paul May, Brian McKenzie and Hans ten Hooge go off on shore leave and Leo van der Goot, Mike Ross and Rob Eden return. This means that International service programmes this evening change to:

18.00 Rob Eden

20.00 Mike Ross

22.00 Terry Davis

24.00 – 3.00 Dave Rogers

Leo van der Goot and Cass the Cook are putting the finishing touches to the ship’s Christmas tree this evening. Plenty of special programmes are planned for the Christmas period. Dave Rogers features the top 10s of 1952, 1959 and 1965 and the Top 30 of 1966 on his show. Terry Davis, Dave Rogers and Rob Eden read the news.
