Popcorn met al z’n
uitvoeringen stormt de Top 50 binnen en landt op nummer 9. De treiterschijf
van vorige week, I like it that way van The Tremeloes, komt nieuw binnen op
nummer 33.

The RNI memories
of Michael Downing for this week Saturday 29 July 1972 Apart from the Treiterschijf, the records that I heard most on RNI over
the past week were:
There is a mobile
discotheque today, which is advertised as featuring Brian McKenzie and Tony Berk, but Leo van der Goot says that he thinks Tony Allan will appear in place
of Brian. Tonight's programmes are: 19.00 Terry Davis (International Prediction
Hit 40) 22.00 Paul May (Reviews) 23.00 Terry Davis (Kent Request Hour) 24.00 - 7.00 Rob Eden Paul May is
suffering from a sore throat this evening. Rob Eden reads news for most of
the evening, but Terry Davis does some of the later bulletins. Sunday 30 July 1972 This month's
edition of Nordsee goes DX is broadcast on
shortwave at 9.00 and lasts a whole hour. It features "Sounds of the
sea", which gives a brief history of every station to have broadcast,
with clips of most stations. The Dutch newsreader Jos
Kuyer is not featured at all today and nor is Paul
May, who is not feeling well enough to present Cloud Nine. Instead tonight's programmes feature only Rob Eden and Terry Davis, but RNI
closes at midnight for maintenance to the transmitter. Programmes
are: 19.00 Rob Eden (Hitback
Show) 21.00 Terry Davis (Cloud Nine) 23.00 - 24.00 Terry Davis (Kent Request
Hour) A lot of blues
played in Cloud Nine tonight. Rob Eden and Terry Davis read the news. Monday 31 July 1972 There is no
repeat for Nordsee goes DX today. Reception on
medium wave is much improved after last night's maintenance work. Leo van der Goot presents Ochtendeditie and Hans ten Hooge
is on Driemaster for some reason today. Paul May goes
off on the tender due to his illness and tonight's programmes
are: 19.00 Rob Eden 21.00 Terry Davis 23.00 Terry Davis (Kent Request Hour) 24.00 - 3,00 Rob Eden Terry Davis, Rob
Eden and Leo van der Goot
all read news in the International service. Tuesday 1 August 1972 Rob Eden, Terry
Davis and Hans ten Hooge all go off on shore leave
and Tony Allan, Arnold Layne and Gerard Smit
return. Also coming out to the Mebo 2 today is a
new Dutch newsreader, Marc van Amstel. Hans ten Hooge is back on Ochtendeditie
this morning and Leo van der Goot
returns to Driemaster. International
service programmes are: 19.00 Tony Allan 21.00 Arnold Layne 23.00 Arnold Layne (Kent Request Hour) 24.00 - 3.00 Tony Allan Tony Allan has
received a letter without a name, address or stamp, which he is not happy
about. He says "Listeners like you I don't need". The letter cost
him 90 cents. Tony Allan and Arnold Layne read the news. Wednesday 2 August 1972 An English
listener has sent Ferry Maat a survey of the Super
Hit 50s of the first six months of 1972, compiled into a Top 100 using the
usual points system. The Top 20 is:
Tonight's programmes are: 19.00 Arnold Layne 21.00 Tony Allan 23.00 Tony Allan (Kent Request Hour) 24.00 - 3.00 Arnold Layne Tony Allan and Arnold
Layne read the news. Thursday 3 August 1972 Brian McKenzie,
Mike Ross and Hans ten Hooge return on the tender.
Nobody goes off. Hans ten Hooge presents Driemaster and Leo van der Goot is not featured in programmes
today. Dutch news is read by Gerard Smit, who also
presents Ochtendeditie, and Marc van Amstel. Tonight's programmes are: 19.00 Tony Allan 21.00 Arnold Layne 23.00 Mike Ross (Kent Request Hour) 24.00 - 3,00 Brian McKenzie News is read by

the Skyline programme from 3.00 to 6.00 on Saturday
morning as well as the Kent Request Hour earlier in the evening. Dutch news
is read by Marc van Amstel, Leo van der Goot and Gerard Smit and English news is read by Arnold Layne, Brian
McKenzie and Tony Allan. New records
which I heard on RNi during the week commencing 29
July 1972, which were not DJ hitpicks, were:
